Many of these facilities are involved in the illegal wildlife trade. Most facilities sell other products such as snake wines, and animal parts which of from wild and often endangered species. The civets are nearly entirely poached from the wild. Although they are not listed as an endangered species, in Vietnam poaching of any wild animal is illegal, although this law is not strictly enforced. Many of the poachers will snare other animals in this trapping process, such as Binturong, which are endangered. BE WISE - do your research and don’t buy products that exploit animals.

By supporting these facilities, buying coffee, going on coffee tours, etc. you are supporting this trade, helping to increase the demand and directly affect the need for more farms, more poaching and coffee.

Do your research - don't support any market/product/or tourism activity that is directly or indirectly involved in supporting the illegal wildlife trade or animal cruelty and exploitation. If you see any thing illegal, animals being harmed or exploited, report the company/facility or behaviour. See our "QUICK LINKS" for more information and suggestion of who to contact where.
